Britain is expected to ban the sale of traditional fuel vehicles (diesel locomotives) by 2030. To meet the rapid growth of electric vehicle sales for the foreseeable future, the British government has pledged to increase subsidies by 20 million pounds for the construction of street charging piles, which is expected to build 8,000 public street charging piles.
The sale of gasoline vehicles will be banned in 2030 and gasoline trolleys will be banned in 2035.
In late November 2020, the UK government announced a ban on the sale of gas-powered cars from 2030 and even gas-electric hybrid cars by 2035, five years earlier than previously planned. The charging rate of household electric vehicles in China is only 40%, which means that 60% of consumers cannot build their own charging piles at home. Therefore, the importance of public street charging facilities is particularly important.

This time, the UK government announced that the new £20 million subsidy will be used for the existing On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme. The plan has subsidized the construction of about 4000 Street charging piles in the UK. It is expected that 4000 more will be added in the future, and 8000 public street charging piles will eventually be provided.
As of July 2020, there were 18265 public charging piles (including streets) in the UK.
The proportion of UK consumers buying electric or hybrid vehicles has also risen rapidly as the policy on electric vehicles has become clearer. In 2020, electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles accounted for 10% of the total new car market, and the British government expects that the proportion of new energy vehicle sales will increase rapidly in the next few years. However, according to the statistics of relevant groups in the UK, at present, each electric vehicle in the UK is equipped with only 0.28 public charging piles, and this proportion has been declining. It is believed that governments of all countries must pay attention to how to solve the huge charging demand of electric vehicles.
